1.What are the teachers qualifications?

Literature or Education while in college, and have taught Chinese
in the U.S. for five or more years. They are all fully capable of
bilingual teaching (English-Chinese).

2.How will you determine the level of each child's Chinese language ability?
There
will be placement test for the new students (except for
kindergarten). Also, during the school year, if a teacher feels
that another grade level will be more beneficial to a student, the
teacher will discuss the issue with the parent's and can make
recommendations. |
3. Will there be tests/exams? Will there be homework for them?
Yes. We ask students to do the
homework assigned for each week, and take a lesson test at the end
of each lesson, both depending on each teacher’s class. There will
be a final exam at the end of each semester. |
4. What will be the language medium for teaching?
Will it be in Mandarin or Cantonese, or is there any bilingual class?
The Mandarin
dialect is the language that we teach with. All of our teachers
will also use English to better communicate with their
students. |
5. What will be the class levels ?
BVCS
class levels parallel the classes offered at most other Chinese
schools in the U. S. Our classes are from Kindergarten though 12th
grade. We begin teaching Han Yu Pin Yin at 6th grade. |
6. Classes last from 7-8:50 p.m. I believe one class per period. Are both classes
academic? Any enrichment programs offered?
Yes,
both periods are academic. We will not have the high school
credit program opportunity. For
enrichment programs please see registration for details.
