Rainy Day Recess
During rainy day sessions, children remain in the classroom during recess break. They are excused from the room to use the lavatory. Teachers and room parents will monitor to observe behavior. Classroom doors are kept open and all parents to help to ensure Safety Comes First! No Running! Particularly the K-2nd graders located in the 700 wing.
Safety Reminder
Bay Valley Chinese School would like to ask parents to remind child that "SAFETY COMES FIRST!" and absolutely no running while on campus. School will be implementing steps including recess time-out to ensure NO RUNNING during recess, particular in the 700 wing.
Student Late Pickup
Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the end of school! Parents have the sole responsibility to transport the children to and from school in atimely and safe manner. The safety of the students before and after the school schedule is also the sole responsibility of their respective parents.

Resignation of Principal
We regret to inform you that Principal Sun has announced his resignation as school principal of Bay Valley Chinese School. His resignation is effective December 17, 2016. Due to increasing responsibilities at his day job, he found that he could not serve in his current position as principal any longer. Principal Sun served as principal of BVCS for the last 5 and a half years in addition to his contributions as a volunteer in other departments throughout the school. His strong leadership skills and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Our board would like to thank Principal Sun for the significant contribution he has made to the lives of the students, families, and teachers during his service years at BVCS and wish him all the best and success in his future endeavors.
The board has appointed Ms. Sophia Chang as Acting Principal of BVCS for the remaining school year. She currently serves as Vice Principal and Director of Registration Department (2011-2016) at BVCS, and the board will work closely with Ms. Chang to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
