與灣谷同行，迎接新學年！
親愛的灣谷學生、家長、老師及同仁：

歡迎大家回到灣谷中文學校，一同共啟新學年！

新的一年，象徵著嶄新的起點，也是我們再次齊聚、攜手前行的好機會。正如奧運五環緊密相連，灣谷的穩固與成長，來自五個不可或缺的群體：學生、家長、教師、行政團隊，以及我們的社區夥伴。每一環節都獨特而重要，正因彼此緊扣，我們才能共同建立一個充滿能量與凝聚力的學習社群。

其中，學生與家長一直是灣谷向前邁進的核心動力。你們的熱情投入、堅定支持與無私奉獻，是推動我們教學與行政團隊不斷前進的最佳助力。

為了讓孩子們的中文學習既紮實又充滿趣味，今年我們特別推出一項全校性學習活動：
「每日一字，穩步前行」

每週，走廊上都將展示精選的中文字卡，透過活潑有趣的方式，幫助學生逐步累積詞彙。到學期末，各班將參與一次字彙挑戰，只要有八成以上的同學通過測驗，全班每位學生都將收到一份神秘小禮物！我們希望透過這項活動，激發學習動機、建立自信心，並讓學生們以自己的節奏，體會學習的成就與喜悅。

此外，我們將以嶄新方式呈現 2026 年的農曆新年慶典，讓學生發揮創意、家長積極參與，共同帶來一場：「學生主導、家長啟發」的灣谷風新春盛會!

每班將由一位學生與一位家長擔任表演節目的領導者，學生構思、家長協力，共同設計並籌劃屬於大家的精彩演出。這不只是一次舞台的展現，更是一個珍貴的學習歷程，在實際操作中鍛鍊學生的溝通技巧、團隊合作與領導特質。

在灣谷，我們始終堅信啟發與連結是塑造優質學習環境的根本；當學生充滿熱情，家長深度參與，社區攜手支持，我們便能共同構築一個充滿活力、溫暖與包容的學習園地。

Welcome to a New School Year!
Dear BVCS Families,

As we begin a new and exciting school year, I would like to share a vision that celebrates the strength, connection, and unity of our community. Much like the five interlocking rings of the Olympic Games, Bay Valley Chinese School is built on the connection and collaboration of five essential groups: students, parents, teachers, administrative staff, and the broader community.

At the top are our students and their parents, the true driving force behind everything we do. Your enthusiasm, commitment, and involvement drive the engine of our school, fueling the work of our dedicated teachers and staff.

This year, we’re excited to launch a schoolwide learning initiative:
“One Chinese Character at a Time”

Each week, vocabulary cards will be posted along the hallway to reinforce learning in a fun and visual way. At the end of each semester, students will take part in a class-wide vocabulary challenge. If 80% of the class reaches a passing score, every student in that class will receive a mystery gift! This initiative is designed to spark curiosity, boost confidence, and encourage students to learn at their own pace with motivation and joy.

We are also handing over the reins of creativity and leadership to our students and families through a refreshed approach to our signature Lunar New Year Celebration: Led by Students, Inspired by Families -- A New Year the BVCS Way!

For the 2026 Chinese New Year Celebration, each class will identify one student and one parent, either by vote or by volunteering, to co-lead their performance. These class representatives will help shape a presentation that reflects the interests and voices of their classmates, putting students in the driver’s seat to create something truly meaningful and shared.

At Bay Valley Chinese School, we believe that the most impactful learning happens when students are inspired, families are engaged, and the whole community comes together. Like the Olympic rings, distinct but interconnected, we all have an important part to play in building a vibrant, inclusive, and joyful place to learn and grow.

Here’s to a year of inspiration, partnership, and discovery—at your own pace, and on your own terms.

   遵守學⽣家長⼿冊規範，尊重地主學校的財產所有權，勿任意使⽤或搬動教室內任何物品及作品，並保持整潔。
   Please abide by the rules and regulations stated in the Parent and Student Handbook. Respect the property right of Pine Valley Middle School. Any and all things in the classroom should not be used, moved or tampered with. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the classroom

8. 校園安全和規範 Campus Safety and Security Guidelines
   校園巡守員必須確保學生遵守下列規則：
   
   1. 學生不可攀爬，快跑，推擠，
   2. 上課中途進入校園的成人，請先向校園巡守員登記，表明身分。
   3. 教室內不可飲食。
   4. 尊重地主學校, 保持教室清潔, 切勿任意使用或搬動教室內任何物品。
   
   Guidelines: Our parent-yard-duties are entrusted with the responsibilities to monitor student activity and behavior on the school campus. To ensure a safe environment conducive to learning, our yard-duties will enforce the following rules:
   
   1. Students are prohibited from climbing, running or causing disruptions on the campus.
   2. Visitors who are not an immediate relative of students must check in with the yard-duty at the front gate and record on the "visitors book" their name, signature, the purpose of their visit, and the date and time of their arrival and departure.
   3. No eating or drinking inside the classrooms.
   4. Respect the host school, keep the classroom clean, leave items in the classroom as they are (including computer, documents, camera and students' artworks), and refrain from using or moving them.

   Activity Department: Seeking Parent Volunteers
   We are seeking enthusiastic parent volunteers to assist with various tasks, including event setup, supervision, and coordination. Whether you can spare a few hours or more, your participation would greatly benefit our students and help create a vibrant and engaging environment. Join us in enhancing the joy of learning by contributing to various school activities. These events offer a special opportunity for parents and children to create lasting memories together.     學習為先：禁止使用手機與電子用品 學區 規定在校期間不用 手機 和 電子用品, 必須放在背包內,同時保持靜音. 如不遵守, 就沒收, 放學後請和家長一起來取回.

    Learning First: No Cell Phones or Electronic Devices
    BVCS adopts the policy of San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) on prohibiting the use of cell phones and other electronic devices at school. We believe that this policy will contribute to a more productive and less distracting environment for our students. During school hours, cell phones and other electronic devices should not be used, heard, or seen. This includes during class, school activities, and recess. Students should keep their phones turned off and secured in their backpacks, and they should not have them out anywhere else until the end of the day. If a phone is visible or audible at any point, it will be taken and held for a parent to pick up after school. Repeat violations may result in progressive disciplinary consequences. If a student needs to contact a parent or guardian during school hours, he or she may come to the office in Room A101 for help.
