2. Chinese American Athletic Tournament
It gives me great pleasure in officially announcing that Team Bay Valley Chinese School will be competing at the 2011 Chinese American Athletic Tournament in San Jose on July 24th and would like to extend the invitation to all BVCS Families.
Many of The tournaments will open for age 6 & under thru 60. This including Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field etc. The participation fees will be paid by BVCS. All players are to make their own travel arrangements.

3. Cathay Pacific Green Explorer 2011
Cathay Pacific Airways will sponsor 40 students from around the world to take part in the new Cathay Pacific Green Explorer programme - an eight-day programme that will take place in Hong Kong and Sichuan Province in China. The aim of the programme, which runs from 13 to 20 August 2011 is to give the young participants a better understanding of environmental issues and the importance of conversation.
Students from Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, South Africa, Taiwan, the United States and Vietnam will be invited to join this unique educational experience.
Applications are open to full-time students between the ages of 16 and 18 who are proficient in written and spoken English and have been involved in environmental or community activities. Applicants are required to submit an essay on an environmental topic that is close to their hearts and relevant to his or her home country or the global situation. Students can make online applications from 23 May to 17 June 2011.
4. To address shortage of Bay Valley Chinese School volunteers, we are looking for parents to get involved with our next school year's program:
Director of Academic Department─Coordinate with teachers and parents.
Student Activities Department─Assist in varies event. I.e. Chinese year celebrations.
Bay Valley Chinese School creates a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering.
Just come to room 100 and talk to principal Ms. Angela Chou.
