2012 年 1 月 20 日舉行。因應全球暖化 節能減碳的措施，今年 開始學術比賽改由 網站 報名 (Online
Registration) 參加 。學校將於下星期公告學術比賽辦法，請家長鼓勵學生踴躍報名並定期收看灣谷 e 通訊 , 以便獲得學校最新消息。
BVCS annual EP contest will be held on 1/20/2012. In response to global warming and paper reduction, effective this year we have changed the paper registration form to online sign up. More details about this EP Contest will be on the next week's eNews. Parents and teachers, please encourage your students to enter the contest.
Children Safety in School
In the past few weeks, we have seen increased number of students with minor injuries compare to same time last year. As winter approaches and the sky gets dark earlier, BVCS needs to remind both parents and parent volunteers to keep an eye on the students, before class starts, during recess, and after class ends. After all, we all want our kids to come to school and go home happy, not with injuries.
Homework Time
Homework is a regular part of the Bay Valley Chinese School. Students are expected to complete homework assignments on time. If students do not understand a homework assignment, they should ask for clarification by the teacher before they take the work home.
Parents should establish a specific time each week for completing homework and establish a homework habit in which weekly assignments will be written. Please check every Thursday evening to make sure your child has his/her homework are completed and checked off, and are put in a place where they will be sure to be returned to school.
BVCS Yearbook
The Bay Valley Chinese School yearbook is a wonderful thing to receive at the end of the year, but it requires a tremendous amount of work. The past few years much of the work was done by only a few families. This needs to change so please give a hand and help out with your time, effort and creativity. Sign up Yearbook Committee at:

BVCS is looking for few 5th and 6th grade students to join our Bay Valley EP contest team. Students will be trained on varies Chinese culture topics to compete with other Northern California Chinese Schools. To join this exciting team, please email Shirley Lin Laoshi.
